Calcasieu Salinity Control Project, LA

Coast & Harbor Engineering is providing Coastal and Hydraulic Engineering Services for Planning and Design as part of the team selected by the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana (CPRA) to execute the Calcasieu Ship Channel (CSC) Salinity Control project. The CSC project was proposed in the Louisiana’s 2012 Coastal Master Plan to manage salinities being introduced through the Calcasieu Ship Channel into Calcasieu Lake to reduce the rate of wetland loss with the surrounding wetlands.  The project will explore various structural solutions to manage salinity through the Ship Channel, which could include gates, locks, weirs, sills, or other structures, either in isolation or in combination.
